August is here and so is the playable prototype!
We finally managed to get enough concept images together and made a gameplay preview! This post covers the battle system, deck building and campaign mechanics as well as the overall story progression.
We’ll follow it up with proper deep-dives into the individual game systems in the coming months once the prototyping phase is officially over, so stay tuned!
Our July update adds the last batch of important components for our first playable prototype. Highlights include an almost working UI as well as the characters and battles for the prototype build.
We’ve also made a few changes to the battle grid and targeting logic which we feel is much more intuitive to get familiar with, but we’ll need a bit more feedback to finalize our thoughts on it.
How To Play
We’ll make the promised prototype build available in the coming days. If you’re interested, head over to the Play page on the Legion Hearts website and download the build once it goes live.
This build is incredibly barebones, so we recommend you have a healthy tolerance for bugs and programmer art. You’ll also need a Windows PC – we’ll start to include Mac and Mobile versions later this year.
Also, thank you so much for reading along until now. It’s a big milestone for us and we’re really happy we have someone to share it with. May we one day remember the tiny prototype that could!
